I have played a variety of wind instruments, unfortunitly over the last 5-6 years it has been restricted to low brass (trombone, euphonium, tuba) interments (I am 23 years old). Going back to woodwinds requires such a change in the way I play it has been quite increadable. Later this week I will try a soft reed, I am playing a medium soft right now.
It does not seem that I have a problem with breath support, over the years I have really learned to breath "from the gut", but the pressure is another thing. It feels like when I try and play rediciously high notes on a brass instrument, except a much different area of my mouth "gets sore".
Any more sugestions?
