High pitch instruments can be lowered by cutting each of the joints into around 4 to 7 (or maybe more) sections and splicing new pieces of wood in between them to increase the length of the joints and space the toneholes further, but that's only part of the solution as a lot of retuning work will have to be done and the keywork will need altering and lengthening as well - so a very costly operation (could end up being around £2500-3000) and most likely not worth doing.
