I do use the banana C key periodically...I will use it during scales practice just to get comfortable with feel of the stretch. It had come in handy in band at times. I have smallish fingers, so when I stretch for it I flatten the finger and the finger joint is what covers the D split. As a previous teacher once said...you paid extra to get that key, might as well get some use out of it!
