Yes - IMSLP is an absolute godsend! All that messing about with parts that always got lost ...
recently in a wind-quintet we decided to play the Taffanel, but two players didn't have parts; Four minutes later, they did!
And more and more music gets added all the time, arrangements, parts where there used to be only scores etc.. No wonder the music publishers are trying to shut it down.
I strongly advise you all to download and save PDFs of anything you feel you may need. This web-site is too good to last.
The other two things you will need to achieve Nirvana are Irfanview, a free image-viewer/editor, and a print-marshaling program such as FinePrint. Most of the PDFs on IMSLP are scans - that is, they are IMAGES, and often have large, useless margins, blotches etc. Copy each image (ctrl-C), paste into Irfanview and crop to exactly the size you wish (learn the keyboard shortcuts). Use the print marshaling program to collate the pages as you crop them, and then print the whole thing in one go.
