 I Can Relate to This

This is one of the most humorous -- and unfortunately, sometimes true -- things I've read for a long time in regard to playing the oboe:

ROFL!

This could have been one of my conversations with my Loree!

The "oboists view of the instrument" pic is interesting - manual octaves, no C# trill, no long F .. but the keywork looks new and decent.

Hilarious! Thanks for the link.

We all play some or other woodwind instrument in my family. Me being the oboist, I can absolutely relate to the much longer conversations I seem to be having with my instrument.

Thanks for the link!

How true ......................................... the oboe is an instrument you hate and love and sometimes you don't know which takes precedence.

Thanks! This post made my day. I think I'll go ask my oboe if it can practice now!

For all of those who are interested:

In case any of you haven't noticed, there's a free downloadable Mp3 file of Aaron Cohen performing besozzi_sonata after the article. :)
