Shaping your own reeds?

I have just made a silly mistake and have received a lot of gouged cane, rather than the gouged & shaped cane ready for tying on I thought I'd ordered.

I also have quite a few pieces left over from three years ago when my first teacher asked me to get some. He had his own shaper.

So it seems that I am destined to start learning about shaping oboe reeds!

I play a Rigoutat Riec and am very happy with it. Can someone suggest a shaper that they know works well with this oboe? I must admit to not knowing anything about the shapes and how they affect the sound. On their website, Rigoutat sell shaper tips for 73 euros + tax, ie approx 90 euros ($120).

Is this all I would need? Is it worth it?
