 Repair question
Author: WestwindBob

I've got a Selmer plastic student oboe on my bench that suffered a broken tenon in the past.

The repair at that time was to insert and glue in a hard rubber replacement.

The adhesive has since failed and the tenon is loose in the top joint.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a plastic/hard rubber adhesive that will work?

(Hello, Chris!)

Thanks,

- Bob

I always use epoxy adhesive such as Araldite.

Yep - your bet bet is to use Araldite or similar epoxy on this.

Clean it all up thoroughly (removing all the old adhesive) before refitting.

Thanks, guys. It worked very well.

This is a great forum; I'm grateful for the advice.
