My brother's flute (bought in 1971 / 72) is a Werner Wetzel.
Its serial# is in the low 1000's (10--). It is in a very beautiful case (snake skin?). The stamp on the flute is:

6 point star (star of David?)
Werner Wetzel
Berlin
6 point star (star of David?)

There is a label in the case that reads:

Werner Wetzel
Meisterwerkstätten für Holz-Blasinstrumente
Holsteinische Strasse 13
1 Berlin 31

I know this maker makes (or used to make) oboes as well because at that time I saw his catalog and I considered getting an oboe of his.
I hope this helps a bit.
