Hi everyone,
I played the D minor version of the Marcello concerto earlier this year in a concerto competition. I ended up winning, and am scheduled to perform the concerto in February 2010.
I just received an email from the orchestra; they are trying to locate the parts for the D minor and it seems that they are only finding the C minor version.
Has anyone in North America heard of the D minor version being performed here? I know that it's not as popular as the C minor, but I didn't think it was this rare!
The only luck I've had so far is from the publisher's website: http://www.breitkopf.com/inventory/werk/7813
Ideally, though, I don't want to ask the orchestra to buy this work from Germany. If I had known it would cause such problems, maybe I would have prepared the C minor version... but I really prefer the D.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know
Thanks!
