Is D 3 the highest note possible on the Baroque oboe? Which extension allowed the classical oboe the high Eb-F?

Taking into consideration all of the above, it wouldn't make bad sense that one plays on either, since D minor is easier, and since the modern oboe can do the altissimo well, why not? C minor is authentic, so playing the authentic can never be wrong no? Conclusion achieved?
