Hello Joepie, and fellow bboarders!
Do you happen to know Hans from the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic?
I am taking a lesson from him tomorrow, and i finally received my new Buffet today! (After a month of agony because i was told that DHL lost the instrument!)
The cork on the lower joint is for some reason swollen and so i cannot attach the bell onto it. So tomorrow i shall go to the local repairman to sort that out!
Playing what it is without the bell, it is the most free blowing instrument i have ever played alongside a Josef Clement model and an old Loree DM of mine. I have yet to try out the instrument with the various models of reeds that i have made in this 2 months. But i believe it will be a pleasant surprise!
I have made reeds from 3 different shapes and 3 different staples, with roughly the same scrape and a different gouge tested on the Loree DM, and the results are fascinating. Will keep you posted once i start really playing on the Buffet!
Regards,
Excited Howard!
