I first heard this piece as the 2nd movement of Bach's Am flute concerto (in a recording by James Galway with the Bm orchestral suite on the B-side), though it's one of Bach's recycled tunes as is the concerto - the 1st movement of the keyboard version (I think in F minor) is used in the 1979 film "The Amityville Horror". It annoys me if I hear this 2nd movement of the concerto version played as a singular item (eg. on ClassicFM) as the final chord should resolve to the home key at the the start of the 3rd mvmt.
I've got a recording of Heinz Holliger playing 'Einem Fuß im Grab' on his CD along with the oboe d'amore concerto and CPE's oboe concertos, though hearing different versions of it all have something different that can be incorporated.
