I do know that bocals definitely make a difference. I actually found a Loree bocal that worked well on my horn but unfortunately it belonged to someone. The reason I mention Hiniker is because I've heard great things about his bocals and he has several different lengths and bore diameters to try. I've also heard good things about the Symer bocals. I really like the sound that my Laubin bocal produces, but 3rd space C sags a little. I didn't notice this problem with the Loree bocal I tried, but it didn't produce as dark or rich of a sound as the Laubin bocal. The point is, I want a dark, rich sound and good intonation, not one or the other.
