Most players will want their instruments to be the same system, but there are some players that play a dual system oboe and a pure conservatoire system cor.
I don't know anyone that plays pure thumbplate and pure conservatoire instruments.
Wonder if anyone plays Viennese oboe, fully loaded German spec conservatoire d'amore (with auto 8ves, etc.) and pure thumbplate system cor regularly? I bet that'd be a headache doing Bach where all three are employed!
