Long tones are worthless without <> and ><. Put your metronome on 70. 8 beats. Every single note possible on the oboe from low Bb till top G or higher if possible. Flautist Jacques Zoon has been doing that for the past 30 years every day. I think that itself is enough reason for us to be less lazy....and yes, with a TUNER and metronome in front of you all the time. Hah there i go to play out of tune! Woosh.
