 Rare repertoire

Hi everyone,

I'm new here, and I need your help, if anybody knows something about these works.

1) Does anyone know anything about the "Melodia
for oboe (1942)" by the Italian opera composer Umberto Giordano (1867-
1948), listed in the New Grove ? He is the author of the well-known opera Andrea Chénier. I've been looking for the work for a few years, but I couldn't find it.

2) Anything about Mikhail Leonidovich Starokadomsky and
his "Quartet for oboe and string trio (1934)", listed in the NewGrove ? I know that he wrote some pieces for clarinet and piano and other for bassoon and piano, reminding me of Prokofiev. I guess it would be a nice addition to the oboe repertoire.

3) Last, anything about Edouard Sabon ? I know that he wrote a lot of opera variations (on Weber, Mozart and Gounod), but I haven't seen any of these works yet. Any opinion about his music ?

Thanks!!

Simon
