A few years back I switched from a Loree Royal-ak (stolen) to a mid-1980's Rigoutat with a new Evolution bell.
I use the long (N. American) scrape and gouge to 60 on center with a Ross gouger.
I had been using an Adams Samson +1 with really good results on the Loree. The 2nd and 3rd octaves spoke easily and were in tune and the notes below the staff still had good resonance. I also have a RDG -1N - similar results as the Samson+1 but with a bit less resonance, and a RDG 1 - not quite as stable in the upper registers.
For the Rigoutat, I'd like to keep the stability of the Samson, while gaining more resonance and depth throughout the range.
Any suggestions?
