Try the D-E trill with LH1 uncovered, and then compare it played with just the back 8ve key open (without uncovering LH1) to see which speaks best.
Lifting LH1 will make the E suffer and opening the lower 8ve key will make the D suffer. So this trill isn't really the best one on the instrument.
However, a good upper register Eb-F trill is done with the lower 8ve key only - played by uncovering the LH1 aperture only will make the (forked) F pack up.
