Last October, the temporary substitute conductor for a children's concert walked through the orchestra at a rehearsal, kicking my english horn over on it's stand. Luckily, it was not hurt. He did not seem to know that he did it and said nothing. We were playing short movements only, such as the second movement of the "New World". Later, he referred to it as an oboe verifying that he really had little experience. I rarely use a stand, however.
