 Thanks to you all- Progress!!

Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all the folks on this board. The "search" feature here opens up so much advice and knowledge for those of us who are beginning (or in my case re-beginning).

Without all of your input I would have probably given up in disgust by now. Instead, because of you all, I've learned how to adjust the horn, how to work on embouchure strengthening and been encouraged that I'm not too old to get back into this.

So, into my third week of this I now have a D and Eb that play on this poor old oboe! -two tiny pieces of tape on top of the G# key worked miracles (adjustment screw head is stripped and stuck). I admit it is irritating that I still loose my upper lip within 16 measures of straight playng-grrr. Daggone this weak body, I hate wanting to practice longer but my mouth just won't do it yet. But- I made it through the "Great Gate of Kiev"- lesson 61d of Essential Elements tonight! Wheeeeeeeee

I feel I'm making some progress and it's all because of the people here.

Many, many thanks.[happy]
