Back in 2014, I began using mouthpiece cushions .3mm BG brand model A14L. I replace one of them every X number of years. Six came in the original package, and I'm down to my last few. Thought it would be good to re-order.
However, all the new ones that I've ordered seem to be made out of rubber, are thicker, and don't hold up very well.
These old BGs look more like a vinyl or woven (You can see a grid-like pattern in the "fabric" when viewed at the correct angle in the correct light - though the texture is smooth like a polished surface.)
The old cushions were shiny and slick, not matte and "grippy."
All the new cushions I'm finding/buying/trying are too soft, matte, and "grippy" - even the clear ones.
I've searched BG's website, but can't seem to find a comparable product to the one offered back in 2014.
So - my question is: Does anyone here have any recommendations for a mouthpiece cushion which is more resilient, thin, and slick than the rubberish ones that seems in vogue today?
Thanks!
Fuzzy
