 My Little Christmas solo
Author: Erika

My high school band is playing, In the Bleak Midwinter and there is a 16 measure clarinet solo in it. This solo is completely unaccompanied except for a few little triangle things from the percussion section. The solo is marked to be played "lamenting."The solo is in the throat tones of the instrument. My band teacher was unsatisfyed with my style that I used and suggested that I get other opinions on how to play it. Technically, this solo is very easy, it's just one time through the melody of In the Bleak Midwinter. So I'm asking all of your opinions on how you would approch the style of this solo.
