I have a 20 key, 7 ring Buffet Master Bore clarinet, Sn 22516, that I have owned since 1941 when it was bought new by my parents. I have enjoyed playing it over the years. Recently, I acquired an 18 key, 7 ring Buffet, SN 22237. This clarinet is in excellent condition. Alvin Swiney once sent a message to Francois Kloc,
" However according to Hans Moennig, the original design of the 22000 Buffet that Ralph McLane used did play in tune from the factory without extensive set up work." Tha tstatement always impressed me because Ralph McLane was such an outstanding clarinetist. Thanks for letting me share my pleasure with all of you.

Glad to hear, SWF, that like me , you enjoy the extra keys also. They give some complications, but also make some playing much more comfortable. As I recall an early Buff FB, the artic. C#/G# was difficult to get properly adjusted, and its Eb/Bb [ring] fork needed the small venting pad as on Sel's and PM's. Have fun, Don
