Tuner advice for cb clarinet needed
Author: Henrik

Hello all,

My colleague, who plays the contrabass clarinet, is having problems with the really low notes being severely out of tune.
He says he can't practise those notes specifically because his tuner does not respond to them. Probably caused by the rich overtone content dominating over the weak fundamental.
My question is if anybody has had any luck tuning the low register of the cb clarinet with an electronic tuner.
We have already tried the Korg DT-3, Korg CA-20, Seiko ST-747 and Elko GT-909 tuners and neither of them give consistent readings.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Henrik Faltstrom
