From octave to octave

Hi. I'm having a real hard time going from octave to octave, how I'm I supposed to do it. Thanks

If you mean playing across the break, welcome to the club. The answer is "practice, practice, practice". Chuck

And be aware that the clarinet (unlike some other instruments) breaks on 12s, not octaves. (This is the reason the low E becomes a B etc.)

It is easier (in my opinion of course) to go down accross the break than up. Try practicing down for a while, and then go up.

Don't be too despondant - after much gnashing of the teeth, and determined practice ... it will suddenly just "happen", but it's a rather big plateau to get over, if you catch my drift.
