Just curious - which brand and type of clarinet is the most common among professional clarinettists in symphony orchestras? Does it vary depending on country (USA vs Europe etc)?

You'll find that it does vary from country to country, for example in England you'll probably find alot of players with english brand clarinets. I don't want to start an argument by saying this, but generally speaking I think most people would agree that world-wide the Buffet clarinets are the most commonly used, followed closely by Selmer, LeBlanc and Yamaha. I know that here in Australia, most good music stores (aimed at woodwind/brass players) keep the full range of Buffet clarinets, but not the other brands. My music store happens to sell Patricolas as well, but they are no where near as popular.
