It's my understanding, Roger, that any abrasive or chemical polish will remove surface metal along with rust, tarnish etc., very small amounts for sure, but over time it becomes quite noticeable. We probably all, or at least most of us, have seen plating wear on older horns. Wear is caused by rubbing (friction) or chemistry (being touched)... I guess :|
