Just finished a complete restoration on an amazing Conn 444N Bb clarinet. My research indicated that the pre WWII 444N's were the best made. This particular one was manufactured in early 1941 and has the big fat sound and superb intonation and the tuning is excellent using a Legere Signature 2 1/2, Rovner dark ligature, and my Grabner AWS PER mouthpiece. Very dark sound. I paid $89.00 plus shipping totaling $108.60 due to half of the bell tenon was chipped off so I installed a metal tenon cap. Also the joint wobble was severe on the middle tenon so I also installed a metal tenon cap which eliminated the wobble. The top metal tenon cap was standard from the factory. Check out the photo.

if you like to place jazz or bigband clarinet these are a must have! blows away every other clarinet from this era . even artie shar played one.
