 P&S Barrels - ? lubrication
Author: Rainwaltz

I have several of these on my clarinets, and two of them are showing some increased resistance to turning the ring. Should they be oiled, and if so with what lubricant. ?

Hi Rainwaltz,

I hate to see you sliding off the page unanswered.

I've never seen one of those adjustable barrels, but I'm guessing they contain a dampening Drag Grease lubricant . Probably best to find out about that from the manufacturer.

I'm not sure using oil is a good idea, but if by now you've already gone ahead and tried it ,then let us know if that worked.

It’s probably the wood wearing against the Delfina in the bore.

I’d suggest detaching it and sanding some of the wood bore.
