My apologies if this topic has been covered before.... I have a Selmer BT and Series 9 that are both enhanced Boehm's. The original BT case has seen far better days and like pretty much every other old Selmer case, those leather handles have deteriorated and/or completely broken off. The 9 came with a case I simply don't like. Are there any brands/manufacturers of new cases out there that will fit the longer lower joint of an enhanced Boehm without it being a double case that's actually intended for a Bb and A clarinet?
Gotta admit, it's a little frustrating trying to find a decent single case that'll fit either one of those clarinets.

If you mean the slightly longer lower joint by about a socket ring width, then most cases with polystyrene or foam innards will fit them as that can be compressed.
I used to use a single Yamaha case for my 19 key 7 ring Selmer BT (or a full Boehm minus the low Eb if you like) when I was at college and it fitted that fine - just compress the polystyrene to accommodate the extra few millimetres of the lower joint socket end will do the trick.

Yeah, I've tried that and actually none of the single cases that I currently have (both newer and older) allow the "innards" to be compressed that much to allow decent fit.
Yes, my BT and 9 are as you described....19 key, 7 ring with the slightly longer lower joint.
I suppose I could attempt some surgery with a new exacto blade, being careful to allow the fabric to be glue tacked back into place. Anyhoo, was just wondering if anyone actually makes a case for them (without having to take a 2nd mortgage on my house)!

Probably overkill to go for the Ortola (I think) single case that fits a full Boehm, but the extra space where the lower joint fits at the tenon end can be used for keeping a pullthrough or something - a 15g tub or two of La Tromba cork grease will probably fit there.

Most of the ProTec cases can be made to fit. I have my 7-ring, 19 key CT in an older ProTec (the black canvas boxy one with the outside pocket). Works great.

Jeff, thank you! I have the older ProTec double case (with the black interior and center area storage) and I made a little styrofoam filler and covered it with black felt. Can barely notice it and my 17/9 BT and the 9 fit fine in the area designed for an A clarinet. I'm pretty sure I know which type of ProTec case you're talking about and will be on the lookout to find one!

See what you think of the Reed and Squeak range - they’re customisable as the joints are held in channels with combinations of inserts and pads which give good protection. There’s room for accessories and sheet music, and helpfully they don’t break the bank.

Hi,
The below suggestions will clearly not work for some case.
If the foam does not compress. Likely the lining will either be a plywood frame or moulded plastic. If it is plywood using a blunt kitchen knife to seperate the lining from the case shell may work. Then dremel back the plywood frame from the rear of the lining to allow fitting the clarinet lengths. Or glue in place further ply to suit the clarinet
