Hi, All --
Usher wrote a thoughtful opinion piece in today's Washington Post on the importance of Juneteenth and how Americans might choose to commemorate it, should it become a national holiday. He suggests that the day could be used to amplify African-American contributions throughout American culture and commerce.

That made me think, why wait? Why don't we think today about individuals and businesses that have contributed to the clarinet: performers, composers, businesses, and the like.
Let's use this thread to highlight African-American achievement in the field and to learn from one another. (Apologies for the U.S.-centric post.)
