I am familiar with a couple of the transcriptions that Horak performed and recorded (always "authorised" by the composer, or transcribed by the composer).
- One was originally recorded with no changes, but later in his career he started making octave transcriptions (never to make it easier, the guy was the first real bass virtuoso)
- One had many changes (to voicing and articulation, not to actual notes)
So I'm wondered if anyone was familiar with his performances of THIS piece. I'm not sure if his wife (his piano partner) is still alive, but I'll try writing to her.
Thanks
