 Saucier Three Pieces

Is anyone familiar with the Three Pieces for Solo Clarinet by Gene Saucier? He was evidently a music professor at Ole Miss, and wrote the piece for Benny Goodman in the mid 1960's.

What intrigues me about it is that there are instructions for a "soft pedal" effect, as well as quarter-tone fingerings.

Anyone familiar with it? Know of any recordings of Goodman playing it?

Thanks.

You could contact Michael Rowlett, who followed Saucier as professor of clarinet at Ole Miss. Rowlett was introduced to the Three Pieces by Frank Kowalsky and has performed them in public. His email is mrowlett@olemiss.edu.

Just a bit more about Frank. He has a very beautiful clarinet sound and very gifted. I think he went to Eastman, a Hasty student, doctorate at Catholic University, if my memory is correct. a Very nice man. Retired now.
