Jim Ognibene, bass clarinettist of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra for 33 years, has retired last Saturday (https://www.instagram.com/p/BxWMFOlAJpp/).

He has been heard on multiple famous Met Opera recordings, such as the Ring Cycle recording with James Levine. I know many Bboard members including me, as well as the wider clarinet community, have been greatly inspired by his artistry. He will be dearly missed!

Jim Ognibene will be sorely missed. He is as fine a soloist as any of the wonderful
principals of the Met orchestra. I heard the re-broadcast of the Poulenc Opera and his acappella solo in the second act gave me chills. Glad to hear he is going out on top of his game.
 Congratulations on a distinguished career.

 Mike
