 Buffet E-S Master Model
Author: Scotty
Date:   2019-05-19 20:10

I have an opportunity to purchase an Evette-Schaiffer that has "Master Model" on two lines, above the usual Buffet logo (with "Paris" in the middle) on all pieces. The serial number is K177xx and matches on both joints. This is well outside of the "usual" range given for Master Models of K10,000 to 12,000 ...sometimes given as K10,000 to 15,000. Anyone have any words of wisdom on this one? I assume it is polycylindrical and don't know if it has undercut holes. Have to buy this one sight unseen, not expensive. The seller doesn't seem to know anything about this clarinet.

The Master Model was an R13 with cosmetic flaws.

You can find a post that attests to this by searching this site. Francis Kloc, the designer, wrote about this responding to a post, and you should be able to find it fairly easily.
