I exchanged emails with Scott on 8/21 and ordered a mouthpiece from him. So far, I have not received it. I've sent 3 emails and 2 voicemails and yet have not heard from him. I believe he teaches band in middle school. If so, he's probably pretty busy.
However, does anybody know if he's possibly sick?
I've waited 22 days and feel now that I should request a refund from PayPal.
Any info would be appreciated.

It's interesting that you bring this up now, as I literally just sent off an email to him asking about a mouthpiece I've had sitting (presumably) at his desk for adjusting since late June/early July. My last contact with him was around July 18, but it looks like he has relisted some of his mouthpieces on eBay fairly recently, although I suppose it could have been automated.
He seems a good (albeit busy) guy and does pretty good work but when I had him reface a 5RV earlier this year it I didn't hear back for about a month after we discussed facings, etc. I hope he's doing well.

I bought a refaced HS* from him a few years back for a very modest cost. It wasn't exactly right for me, but I gave it to a young player in a band I play in, and he loves it.

I haven't dealt with him recently, but did buy an old steelite ebonite piece from him that he'd refaced a few years ago. We exchanged several messages and he was very responsive.
He does have a facebook page, you could try messaging him through that if other methods haven't worked?

Hi gavalanche20,
Ya, know...I just don't know what else to do. I've left 3 emails, 2 voicemails, and I left him a message on Facebook. I honestly don't know what else to do at the moment.
Is there anybody on the BB that considers themselves a personal, close friend of Scott?
It appears that my next step is to have a talk with PayPal. They will try to contact him. And...if he doesn't reply...well, I guess I just get my money back.
I just don't understand how anyone trying to run a business simply just doesn't reply to 6 messages sent through 3 different methods.
I honestly can't even begin to believe that he's ignoring me. I've read that he has a very good reputation. I still think something is seriously wrong and I just don't know what it is yet.
On second thought, before PayPal, I'll try to find out what school he teaches at and see if I can glean any info about his health status.
Thanks for your input.

I know nothing about Mr. Kurtzweil, but this is a busy time of the year for middle-school band directors. Might be a factor.

At this point I think patience is the best recourse. Take heart, I've been waiting longer than you!

Hi Dan,
Have you since had any luck contacting Scott?
