More and more new music require this instrument, so I just wonder which companies make it (professional level)?

EEb or BBb?
Buffet, Selmer, Vito and Selmer USA make EEb contras.
Selmer, Ripamonti and Vito make BBb contras - the Selmer and Ripamonti are built to low C.
I'm sure Ripamonti used to offer wooden contras in both EEb and BBb, but now it seems they only offer a Leblanc-style metal paperclip BBb contra:

That's interesting. I thought their wood contrabass had the best sound (I also tried Selmer, Leblanc and Eppelsheim) but had several other "deal breakers". I'm wondering if their metal one is essentially the same but with improved key design (which was one of the major issues).

I wonder if they bought the remaining parts and tooling from Leblanc?
I do remember their wooden contras having funny looking bells - not the graceful curves seen on Selmer contras, only a far more abrupt and utilitarian look.
I haven't seen any Ripamonti clarinets in person, so can't comment on their build quality - has to be said I've never been won over with Italian build quality.

Selmer Paris, Benedikt Eppelsheim, or a used paperclip Leblanc Paris contrabass would be considered "professional". If price is in the equation, the used paperclip Leblanc + a restoration fee and maybe a new case would be the way to go.
