Just be aware that this is not the Kent Kennan arrangement that most people play - although it is a rip-off of said arrangement.

And, it is illegal in the US, where most of Prokofiev's music is protected by copyright.

Mario, thank you for posting the link to your arrangement of the first movement of the Prokofiev sonata.
If one were to purchase the other movements, would you be willing to transpose your clarinet part for A clarinet?
Better yet, would you be willing to sell the movements in their Finale or Sibelius native format so the buyer could do the transposition himself?

Thanks,
Simon

PS I am located in Canada where copyright is not an issue for this piece.

@Blumberg, you can be callous about someone dying if you like, that's up to you, but the fact that you think such behaviour has anything to do with being "PC" suggests you don't have a good understanding of what PC actually means. Dn

I see everyone's point here and I am NOT taking sides.

One of the laws which I sooo hate are copyright laws.

For example Chedeville and Kaspar are people whom have been gone for many years, but we cannot use their names in the mouthpiece world. Some JERK copyrighted their names! So here are people that are amazing people whom have passed on and a JERK is trying to make money off of a name.

I disagree with this. Copyrighting a name? Come on? The JERK is Omar Henderson. He can't make a good mouthpiece so he has to use someones name to promote his. His mouthpieces are still bad, regardless of what name he puts on them. Try not to support his products, bore oil, anything.

The laws need to be changed. How can you buy a name? This is a very stupid law.

He's tried to sue me and he has failed. I'm too smart for him. I still use these names Chedeville and Kaspar all of the time. Omar will be steaming when he reads this. :)

So with music I would think if it was played for free concerts no one should really care. If the music is played for personal pleasure I don't think any harm is done.

If money is collected this becomes a subject I cannot answer. If the composer and or the family members of the estate are alive I think they deserve the money. But not strangers that buy his name.

Do you have kids or a spouse? If so, do you think they will mind if I steal your property after you are dead? How about your grandchildren?
