You can purchase the barrel directly through Thomann in Germany.

international@thomann.de

At least when I purchased the barrel, I was able to get it for a substantially lower price than buying it through an individual I know of who is a US distributor. Hope you can get the barrel. It is definitely worth the price.

They respond very quickly. They must be getting a lot of business from the US.

When I purchased it directly the cost was 230.84 Euros (includes the shipping) which came out to $245.66 at that time. Just use that as a reference cost.

My teacher uses one, bought in Germany as well (but I am in Europe). She is using it on a German bore instrument (Wurlitzer) ... I do not know how well they work on a Boehm clarinet.

The Zoom works exceptionally well on Boehm clarinets. Initially I tried it on a Yamaha YCLCSVR, a Ripa (an excellent clarinet that I haven't heard other players talk about) and a Buffet Tosca. It made each instrument sound noticeably better adding more focus, clarity of tone, projection and "zing" to the sound compared to barrels that came with the instruments. It made the most difference with the Tosca which I had considered as a dud. The Zoom resurrected it from the grave.

I ordered one for my Tosca from iNNOLEDY in New York.
It only took a few weeks to arrive.

It seems to make the tuning scale a bit more even. As to the sound, perhaps a little less core than my slightly favored Chadash barrel. I seem to be alternating between both barrels.

Chris.

Any adjustable barrel would seem to have a small step in it's bore to do the adjustment.
