I have noticed in photos that Wenzel Fuchs is using a new type of barrel. I thought that it might be only available for German system clarinets. Then I examined a picture of Annelien Van Wauwe using a similar barrel on her Buffet. It is ringless and has a white band (?) 2/3 up from the bottom. Is there anyone out there who is familiar with this barrel? On a side note, I noticed her Buffet has both low F and a LOW E resonance key. I know that.Olivier Patey also has both keys. Can anyone ask Buffet to install it on their clarinet or is it only available to their top tier endorsers?

The barrel is called Paulus & Schuler barrel and it is available for both German and French clarinets. Regarding low E/F correction, if you are using any professional Buffet models, you can give your instruments to any authorized dealer and they can give Buffet for installing it. But please note the one you saw on Annelien's instrument is different, it is German style low E/F correction key, which is operated by right hand thumb while the one on Patey's is operated by right little finger. For this, you can ask some top German clarinet makers to add.
