Well a few days ago I suggested to keep an eye out on Yamaha, meaning that some new horns will probably come out within 2 weeks.
Great news! The older pro model SEV is replaced with the SEVR. I saw that coming. This will surely be a great selling horn as the SEV sold very well. I would think that you should try this and compare it next to the CSVR series and see which one fits you best.
The German CSG111 is replaced with the CSG111L. I was surprised with this move. This I did not see coming! I played the CSG111 in August and thought it was great. It has a 57mm barrel and it is a straight bore. I did feel it was a tad bright sounding for a German horn, perhaps they warmed it up?
I'll try to get over to Yamaha in the middle of March and test these out.
Needless to say, if anyone tests these new horns let us know what you think.
Before you buy a Buffet, Backun, or any instrument, check out the Yamaha's first. You will save a lot of money and get a really wonderful bold sounding horn. Not a wimpy dead horn which could cost thousands more.
