A friend is spending some time in Toronto, Canada in December. She is considering buying a bass clarinet while she is there. Can anybody suggest any woodwind retailers that she might check out while she's there?
Thanks.

Talk to John and Patti at Taplin Weir. Both the Toronto and Montreal Symphony clarinetists get their instruments and repairs done there and they're great people.

As far as a store actually carrying pro bass clarinets, Long & McQuades Bloor Street location would be the place to go.

There's also a large music store called Cosmo in Richmond Hill, which is not too far from Toronto. I've never been there so I can't attest to its quality first hand, however, their catalogue is available online: http://cosmomusic.ca/
