Hi all of you BBoard denizens,
I thought I'd leave a note here since I've been a member of this community since it was Sneezy.
I had the good fortune to film for Jeopardy (an American quiz show) a few weeks ago, and you can watch tomorrow (Wednesday March 9) to see how I did!
Jeopardy airs at different times and on different stations in different markets. You can check here to find your station and time: https://www.jeopardy.com/about/find-your-station
Sharing the clarinet love!

I'll be sure to watch! I've long wanted to be a contestant myself.

Congratulations! I know it is stinkin' hard just to qualify. I can't even remember to phrase the answer in the form of a question when I play along at home.

I guess you don't remember Quisp and Quake.
I might have Quaker Oats and a quesadilla, will probably pass on quail eggs, quahogs, and quiche.

"Its the part of the instrument that gets the most debate relative to its ability to improve play."
...."Whats the ligature?"
..."oh...sohhree (Canadian for sorry)....we were looking for What's the Clarinet ligature. Morales---you control the board....."
"Curtis Clarinet Instructors for $400 please...."

"Evangelist of the clarinet"!!!
That was the biggest shoutout to our instrument Jeopardy has ever experienced!
BRAVA!!!
(We've DVR'd Jeopardy every night for years, and my kids love it--so we're on the bandwagon with the clarinet evangelist!)
GO KATRINA!!!!!!!!!!!

:) I've called myself the "Clarinet Evangelist" for years and was soooo happy the Jeopardy folks wanted to lead with that! :D

I'm just seeing this thread. I wish I had known, and could have watched. Still, I had friends texting me about a clarinet evangelist on Jeopardy. Wonderful!!!!!

Congratulations Katrina. I'll be at a band rehearsal tonight but I'm recording it to watch later.
I've never had someone to root for on Jeopardy before. Thanks for letting us know. Hope you do well tonight.

Great job again tonight!
At the end of the show, they always show the contestants chatting with Alex Trebek. I've always wondered how long that lasts, and what everyone chats about. Also . . . how many shows do they film each day?

Just watched you win again. I yelled out "feedback" as the final jeopardy answer too. It's my little test each day that I haven't lost my mind!
Great to have a clarinetist do so well! Maybe there will be a nice music category in the coming shows.

The chatting lasts until the director says there's enough. I think it was usually a couple minutes or so. It's really hard to tell how much time is passing on that sound stage! :D
Topics...in yesterday's show it was dogs. Norine's love of standard poodles had Alex's attention entirely. For my first show, Wednesday, I honestly can't remember what was talked about because I was so shocked and surprised to have won!
They film 5 shows in a day, Monday-Wednesday before lunch, then Thurs-Fri.

Congratulations on the great run!!!
Even though I am more at the level of "So You Think You're Smarter Than a Sixth Grader," Jeopardy has always been my favorite game show.
So, you'r buying some new clarinets with your winnings?

I wish I could buy a bunch of things I've wanted; there are debts to be paid first.
I haven't done all the math (taxes etc) yet. I'm hoping to find a low-C bass, but we'll see!

Yes, great job! That sure was a wild end to the game last night--and that final Jeopardy question? Some of those questions aren't that hard, but that one was crazy difficult. I wonder how many people watching knew the answer.
