Ok. Try a new brand of reed.
When I read your post the first thing I thought was allergy. Do different brands use different types of cane? In which case that may solve things.
But then u said old reeds. They could have invisible mould or bacteria on them. Both of which could be very harmful to your health.
I have had violin students allergic to rosin. Had to try and find a few brands before they could play!
