Stephen converted an A clarinet lower joint to basset for me and likewise did a great job.
>How about an E-flat sopranino.
If you ever convert an Eb clarinet to basset, the word will get out and composers might start writing for such an instrument. I noticed basset A clarinet being called for in contemporary pieces around the time it became more common to do the Mozart clarinet concerto on basset. Funnily, soon after I got my basset A clarinet for a run of Mozart concerti, my contemporary ensemble played a piece which called for basset A clarinet (Thomas Ades' Chamber Symphony).
