Bass clarinet MP to contra alto adapter?

Greetings all!
I am considering purchasing a contra alto clarinet in the near future. The one I'm looking at does not come with a mouthpiece. A while back I found this picture of a mouthpiece adapter on the internet:

I was wondering, would it be feasible to make a mouthpiece adapter so I could use my bass clarinet mouthpiece on a contra clarinet? The obvious disadvantage would be that it would have a weaker tone, but the plus side is that I could use my good bass clarinet mouthpiece instead of buying a bundy contra alto mouthpiece and lig. The bore diameters are very close (0.945 for my mouthpiece compared to 1.025 for the contra's bore) Does anyone have this kind of setup on there contra clarinet?
Thank you.

Can't you just put in an extra layer of cork? I would think that you could place it on the inside of the neck of the contra rather than on the tenon of the mouthpiece so that you could still use the mp on the bass.

I am not sure that this contraption yields better results than a genuine EEb mouthpiece. It's not just the bore diameter, it's also the mouthpiece chamber volume, the size of the reed etc.

I did some experimenting in your direction as well (testing a metal Leblanc EEb) and I constantly overblew into the upper register with my standard bass piece.

I bought a Fobes Debut BBb Contrabass mouthpiece (the Leblanc receiver has BBb size).

I've never been tempted to use a Bass Clarinet mouthpiece in an Eb Contra..... Clark Fobes makes EXCELLENT Contra mouthpieces that don't break the bank. While I don't use his Debut mouthpiece any longer in either my Bass or my Eb Contra...they're excellent mouthpieces that play well in tune and project just fine.
