My wife and I were asked to perform at a gala retirement concert for a local singer and need a piece for these instruments. Suggestions?

There's an arrangement of themes from Carmen, done by Michael Webster. It's long, but the finale (can't remember which tune was used) can be performed as a separate piece.

Who plays what instruments and how well? Clearly, the latter is subjective. Can you describe your level of play somewhere more specifically above "3 blind mice," and below "ability to solo any virtuosic work for wind instrument, with a major US orchestra on demand.........by memory...upsidedown."
I don't speak "Michigan" but if you do, and can categorize your level of play by some standard, like http://www.msboa.org/ Michigan's school educator's standards, I can (forgetaboudit) try to translate it to its "New York" counterpart http://www.nyssma.org/.
But first I'll need a glass of "wardah."

The Saint Saens Tarantella would be a good start.

I can't address MSBOA or NYSSMA ratings.
We are both part-time performers. Deb has a Specialist in Flute Performance (essentially a DMA minus the last year), teaches K-12 school band, and has been an MSBOA judge. I perform several times a month, either as first chair in several community bands and orchestras, chamber music, or with several Klezmer and Balkan groups.
Pieces we have performed together in the last few years:
Irving Fine: Partita
Poulenc: Sextour
Strauss: Serenade Op. 7
Gordon Lewin: Caribbean Sketches
So, call us advanced players, who aren't going to trot right out and play the Nielsen: Clarinet Concerto or Villa-Lobos: Bachianas Brasileiras No. 6.

I'd recommend Saint-Saen's Tarantella if you're all playing at a fairly high technical level. It's about 7 minutes long and a huge crowd-pleaser.
edit: sorry about the repetitive suggestion; there seems to have been a few hours delay before my post actually made it up!
