I just received my 'new' used Vito bass. I need to cut the floor peg down a bit, as only one end is small enough to go into the clamp and the other end is too long.
Anyway, I wanted to be sure that I could get another peg before I cut this one. Of course, they're available for $20-30. My measurements show that the rod is close to 17/64" or 7 mm. 17/64 is not a size that you're going to find easily and certainly not at your local big box store.
7 mm rod is available here http://www.orangealuminum.com/round-rods/round-rods-270.html for a few bucks. It's a 6 foot length, so you'd have enough for the whole section.

Ferree's Tools can sell you the peg alone or an entire assembly. They have these for both Leblanc and Selmer-USA/Bundy designs.
