As a Bass Clarinetist and music degree holder from The University of Iowa. I personally would love to see this finished.

Certainly a worthy objective, and long overdue. But I'm curious about something: he doesn't mention anything (that I noticed) about legal issues. Did Rubank have to give its approval, which I suppose they did? If any of the pieces are still under copyright, did the copyright holders get a vote? Or is the whole thing a nonissue?

The Voxman book is simply Bach pieces written out in treble clef, with occasional transposition to easier keys. None of that is copyrightable, even if Hymie put on a purported copyright notice.
Also, on Michael Lowenstern's site, he notes that he plays from the original version for cello, reading bass clef and letting it come out a step lower.
