Anyone ever try them? Pro's, con's? Good for advanced student? My instructor seems to like them, and recommended them. Have a box, but no working clarinet.

I have been playing them for about 6 months (the "thick blank" version). I use a 3.5 on either Selmer HS* mpc or Rico Reserve X0. I find them to be very responsive, although some are thin in their sound. (I compare them to my usual Rigotti Gold 3.5 medium.)
They are a bright sound, to me, which sometimes is good. And I do get a few in each box with the fuller sound that I particularly like. For my personal style, I find them less shrill and more consistent than Vandorens.
As others have advised me in this forum, I would say a box is cheap enough; and it would be worthwhile for you to try several different reeds and styles. If you haven't tried the Rico Classic Reserve, that might be worthwhile for you, too.
Also, a working clarinet.

I use the Grand Concert Thick Blank (3) with a Selmer C85 120 mouthpiece and love the sound I get from them.

I don't use the Rico Reserves and Thick Blanks, #4, and hate my sound.
